We reply with a fixed all-in price, usually within a few hours on a business day.
Estimates are based on our current forwarder rate sheet and cover the 48 contiguous states (no PO boxes, military addresses, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Guam or Alaska). Chargeable weight is the greater of actual and volumetric weight (L×W×H cm ÷ 6000). Ocean shipments have a 21 kg minimum per shipment and 12 kg minimum billable per carton. Rates move with fuel, season and exchange rates, so the final price is confirmed per shipment.
Our lines are DDP — duty-paid to the door. The number above is what lands on your invoice, not a freight-only teaser that grows once customs gets involved.
This is the single biggest surprise for first-time importers, and the reason two shipments of the same weight can cost very differently. Freight is billed on chargeable weight — the greater of what your cargo actually weighs and what the space it occupies is worth.
| Your carton | Actual weight | Volumetric weight | You are billed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand tools · 40 × 30 × 30 cm | 18 kg | 6 kg | 18 kg — dense cargo, actual wins |
| Kitchenware · 60 × 40 × 40 cm | 15 kg | 16 kg | 16 kg — almost balanced |
| Cushions · 60 × 50 × 50 cm | 7 kg | 25 kg | 25 kg — you pay for the space |
A useful shortcut: one cubic metre bills as about 167 kg. If your cargo is denser than that, you pay by weight; if it is lighter, you pay by volume. Foam, textiles, plastics and anything with air inside the box almost always bill by volume, so tighter packing from your supplier translates directly into a smaller freight bill.
Two more rules the calculator applies for you: sea freight has a minimum of 21 kg per shipment and a minimum billable 12 kg per carton. A single 4 kg box still bills as 12 kg, which is why consolidating several suppliers into one shipment nearly always beats sending cartons one by one.
Speed is not the only difference — the lines accept different categories and price small shipments very differently.

The workhorse for Amazon FBA restocks and steady inventory. Best cost per kilogram once you are over roughly 100 kg, with weekly sailings and UPS final mile across the US.
≈ 18 days
The same route with priority sailing and faster customs release. Worth the premium when a stockout is closer than three weeks away.

Door-to-door with duty, fuel and residential delivery already inside the rate. Accepts categories standard sea will not take, including food, cosmetics and personal-use goods. The sensible choice for smaller parcels.

Kilograms per cubic metre decide whether you pay by weight or by space. The cheapest saving in freight is a smaller carton.
West coast ZIPs 8–9 are cheapest, Central 4–7 sit in the middle, East 0–3 cost most. The calculator reads the zone from your ZIP.
Heavier consolidated shipments reach the low end of the range; small ones pay the high end and can hit the 21 kg minimum.
Amazon FBA is the baseline. A non-Amazon business address adds a little, a residential or remote address adds more.
Duty is inside our DDP price, but the rate depends on what the goods are — so unusual or high-value cargo is confirmed per shipment.
Ocean rates, fuel surcharges and the exchange rate move constantly. Peak season before Chinese New Year is the sharpest swing.
